In this role I am responsible for providing leadership and management of the Metropolitan and Regional Network Operations teams including Albany, Geraldton, Bunbury and Kalgoorlie. The Operations Team are focused on delivering best-practice customer service, asset maintenance and construction activities to support the safety, integrity, growth and performance of the gas distribution network across Western Australia.

Significant Projects and Achievements in Role• Joint business lead in the successfully completed 2016 ATCO Gas Australia Enterprise Agreement negotiations with the Communications, Electrical, Electronic Information, Postal, Plumbing and Allied Services Union (CEPU).• Successful integration of contract workforce with permanent ATCO staff within field crews increasing flexibility for industry workload fluctuations.

In this role I was responsible for providing leadership and management to the FERU. The FERU is responsible for the timely repair of gas escapes on the network where standard operating procedures cannot be applied. The Unit utilises Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) to enter irrespirable atmospheres to affect a repair on gas escapes. I undertook this role in addition to my nominal role as Operations Manager and have acted in this capacity since 2005. Significant Projects and Achievements in Role• Became a member of the FERU in 2000. Promoted to FERU Team Leader in 2005.• Developed and implemented Safe Work Instruction for Use of FERU. • Developed and implemented Incident Control Permit and FERU Equipment Safe Work Instructions. • Developed and implemented FERU training material and curriculum in conjunction with training department. • Lead the FERU on numerous gas incidents and effected repairs.

Significant Projects and Achievements in Role• ATCO Gas Australia Award of Excellence 2013 recipient. A prestigious award as voted by peers in the company for displaying all the ATCO facets of excellence.• ATCO Gas Australia Award of Excellence 2014 nominee.• Relocated to Albany with my family during the height of replacement and maintenance activity to provide direct leadership and ensure the safety and efficiency of all teams.• Successfully managed leak survey, leak repair and storage facility upgrade for the Gas Distribution Network within the City of Albany. Planned resource requirements, timeframes, equipment, depots, and materials and costing for multimillion dollar capital works and maintenance projects. • Successfully negotiated contracts with contract teams, recruited internally, trained and assessed and delivered required outcomes. • Successfully blended ATCO and contract workforce for the first time to carry out live gas operations. • Joint business lead in successfully investigating, modifying and improving leak detection techniques for underground Liquefied Petroleum Gas Distribution Systems.

Responsible for providing leadership and management of major integrated capital infrastructure projects related to the safety, integrity, growth and performance of the gas distribution network across Western Australia.In this role I managed major contracts administration and associated relationships for the Mains and Services & Civil contracts ensuring compliance through audit, inspection and quality assurance processes. I was accountable for the development and execution of the Construction Inspection program, ensuring all works and services provided in line with commercial agreements. Significant Projects and Achievements in Role• Project Manager and successful implementation of Project Compass. o Awarded best cost versus risk outcome for the provision of services to install / replace gas mains and services in the Perth Metropolitan and Bunbury areas. The introduction of a new contract model provided the business with the opportunity to drive a competitive tender and selection process to benchmark and score individual contractors. This process also provided the opportunity to reduce the overall number of contract companies and thus reduce the number of interface meetings with contract partners and generate further efficiencies. • Member of the ATCO Gas Australia’s Emergency Management Team (EMT), Emergency Controller roster for the 2011 Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM).

In this role I managed the delivery of Capital Projects including High Pressure Pipelines, extensions, alterations, commercial meter sets, and mains replacements in line with the capital works program. I was also accountable for the management of internal and contract work teams and fabrication workshop.Significant Achievements in role include:• Concept, design, costing, contract engagement and construction of High Pressure Steel Pipelines and Meter Sets to supply gas for Path Transit Buses at the O’Conner, Malaga, Karrinyup, Kelmscott, Rockingham and Bayswater Bus Depots.• Concept, design, costing, contract engagement and construction of five Pressure Reduction Stations along High Pressure Pipeline 104 allowing the pressure increase required for the expanding South West Network. • Recruited, trained and monitored contract and internal resources as appropriate with a rapidly increasing capital works program.• Lead role in development of appropriate live gas pipeline weld procedures ensuring this activity is carried out safely.
