Mies. UK is a student founded and student led initiative based in Glasgow at the Mackintosh School of Architecture, and recently in London.As the sister organisation of Mies. Magazin in Vienna, our aim is to bring informal and uninhibited filmed interviews with architects (both large and small) to a wider audience through screening and publically available films. They may only be small insights but as a collective offer a uniquely diverse overview of the profession today - and all through students' eyes.Our reach is extensive. The Mies. TV Network, which films in six langauges and showcases in seven countries is an example of what the first truly globalised generation can achieve as a team. Our unique content feeds into our alternative coverage and is all wrapped up in what we see as one big architectural adventure.

Established in 2008, Kyson is an award-winning, architectural practice with a reputation for producing well-crafted, contextual and contemporary projects within the built environment.Studio Kyson’s schemes are a product of the relationship between programmatic requirements and the clear juxtaposition of place, space, light and materials. This approach, with an emphasis on the expression of architectural form and an underlying rationale derived from classic proportions, ensures that the aesthetic qualities of their architecture become integral to its functionality.The practice’s body of work is broad with commissions including private houses, interiors, hotels, restaurants and commercial space. Studio Kyson maintains a medium-sized, passionate design team that operates from its centrally located, creative studio in Shoreditch.

Working as a Part 1 Architectural Assistant in a small practice in Dublin, Ireland on a range of new build domestic houses, conservation and bespoke furniture design. My design experience was largely defined by detailed design regarding louvre systems on a Passive house and bespoke staircase design. During my time here I was largely independent and liased with workers and design team on site for the Passive house almost daily.

Working as a Part 1 Architectural Assistant after completing my B.Arch in a small team practice that focuses on domestic extensions, alterations and commercial projects. As part of a team of four I had the advantage of being involved and witnessing all stages of projects from initial client meetings and surveys all through to design, planning, and warrant. Projects involved various domestic extensions across Glasgow and East Dunbartonshire and involvement in office and restaurant design across Scotland.
