I’m a trade qualified, biomedical engineer with eight years’ experience working as a fitter and turner. I have worked as a wheelchair technician, a position which enabled me to work directly with people living with various impairments and see the impact assistive technologies can have on their lives. This experience unlocked a hidden passion for the rehabilitation industry and prompted the decision to complete a degree in biomedical engineering. I have strong skills in fabrication with extended experience in welding procedures, lathe and milling operations as well as a large range of general fabrication knowledge. I wish to continue to learn within the field of assistive technology and improve quality of life for individuals living with mobility impairments.
