Summer work as an interim purchasing and procurement co-ordinator, which involved:- Quickly learning how to use purchasing system software and adapting to company processes- Liaising with engineers and suppliers to provide fast client solutions for ongoing projects- Refining existing processes to help the company operate more efficiently, mainly through implementing and maintaining a basic stock management system and recording my learning process to help train my successor.

Work experience as a Year in Industry student as part of a small team within Test Development and Integration, which involved:- Physically modifying fuel injector testing machines to change the configuration of hoses, orifices, cooling and measuring devices to try and determine their effects on fuel measurement- Thorough experimentation on these measurement configurations to collect large amounts of data- Writing Matlab scripts to analyse this data, which I presented to my mentor and other team members to try and identify causes of fuel measurement irregularities- Once an optimal measurement configuration was agreed upon, I was given the individual project of using CAD to design a retrofit assembly to implement it. Over my last 3 months I built a temporary prototype for further experimentation, designed the full retrofit unit, and contacted suppliers to quote for its construction, ready for future installation.- Alongside this, I was involved in gathering documentation to sign off test machines ready for production, organising and upgrading the team's workshop area, and participating in the Contribution to Business Award Scheme.
