Key member of the technology team developing new processes to produce high purity alumina (HPA) based materials for the battery and electronics industry. Responsibilities:• Solvent Extraction/Ion Exchange technical expertise• Design and Engineering of new novel hydrometallurgical process technologies• Full involvement in process technical development from benchtop scoping testwork, to pilot plant design and operations, to commercial plant construction and commissioning• Commission of semi-commercial scale solvent extraction plant • Lead design and implementation of an Ion Exchange package• Process modelling• Technical and DFS reporting while maintaining strict client confidentiality and managing trade secrets• Production of some of the highest purity battery precursors achieved in commercially viable and scalable processes

Project manager in a hydrometallurgical testwork facility. Extended and varied hydrometallurgical testwork programs in the areas of Leaching, Solvent Extraction, Comminution, Flotation, Gravity Separation.Responsibilities included:• Hydrometallurgical testwork, reporting and management of a large range of commodities and processes• Management and scheduling of workflow and employees• Strict management of client confidentially, notably while performing testwork for different clients in the same commodity space.• Pilot plant commission and operation Production of high purity intermediates through novel processes:▪ Nickel sulphate solvent extraction and crystallisation▪ High purity mixed Ni/Co/Mn products▪ High purity alumina production▪ High purity scandium oxide production via two processing routes for two different clientsLeach testwork:▪ Nickel heap leach▪ Copper heap leach▪ Gold cyanide leaches, and CIP designFlotation testwork and flowsheet optimization:▪ Lead/Zinc▪ Graphite▪ Copper

Responsibilities include:- Acid leach testwork for copper and nickel ores- Worked as an operator for four weeks on an Albion Process pilot plant treating acopper ore.- Regular work with hazardous chemicals including concentrated acids and cyanide.- Sample preparation for copper, gold, nickel, lead/zinc, coal, antimony ores.- Operation of test scale crushers, grinding mills, hydrocyclone.- Working in teams of technicians, under engineers and individually.

My job at Glencore was to operate a small-scale pilot plant located on Glencore’s Bulga Coal CHPP in the Hunter Valley, New South Wales. This plant used a flotation and grinding circuit to produce a low ash product from the CHPP tailings. My position involved: - Operation, control and maintenance of two Jameson Cells and an IsaMill- Operation and control of all auxiliary equipment including pumps, valves, thickener and a filter press.- Daily plant start up/shut down procedures and daily plant surveys. - MS Excel and Word office work including data analysis and presentation.
