As the Founder and President of Agency360, I have a passion for applying information technology to public safety use in the field. Like most folks who enter public safety, I originally became a police officer because I wanted to help people. Early on I had visions of spending my day catching bad guys, keeping the community safe, and helping the injured. But once on the job, I found that a lot of my time was spent not with heroic actions, but instead with mundane employee management tasks like documenting training, updating certifications, scheduling, and filling out employee reviews.After talking with peers in the field, it became apparent that these archaic back office problems can often apply to all of public safety. Not just police & sheriff departments, but 911 centers, ambulance services, fire departments, jails, prisons, private security, even federal law enforcement agencies struggle with these issues. As these agencies are increasingly being asked to do more with less - more calls, more liability, and fewer resources - I wanted to do something to help. With input from others in the field, I spent my off duty time applying my computer science degree to build a solution. I started with the process of field training a new employee. With my background in software engineering and feedback from experts, we completely redesigned the field training experience. Since that time, Agency360 was created to develop modern solutions to help public safety agencies do more with less.
