I have been working with new and historic buildings in sensitive contexts for over 20 years, directing their repair and re-use, designing interventions and extensions and carefully enhancing their significance.I have a role at HLM Architects to provide specialist design support and advice to clients and design teams across the RIBA Stages and across sectors in relation to historic buildings, adaptive re-use and contextually sensitive projects. The performance spaces, art gallery, university buildings and hotel projects that I led at Feilden Clegg Bradley embody a low-carbon approach to architecture – whether new or old - whilst the Georgian townhouse and former industrial buildings that I re-purposed whilst at Universal Design Studio had a strong interior design as well as architectural component.I've been responsible for concurrent projects, leading consultant teams, engaging and supporting clients and delivering clear design ambition through the exciting creative and demanding technical process of producing architecture. Careful management of resources, extensive co-ordination, thorough detailing and delivery on site to tight timeframes characterized my role at both Universal and FCBstudios. Prior to that, I converted dormant areas of LCC County Hall for the BA London Eye including project management and contract administration whilst at Marks Barfield Architects. This followed a year with Foreign Office Architects who were my diploma tutors at the AA and I worked for them after graduating in 1997, overseeing their first UK projects in London and Bristol.AA Diploma Honours.
