The Art of War is a Chinese military text that espouses a great variety of wisdoms about leadership. This work describes the five key characteristics of great leaders as Intelligence, Credibility, Humaneness, Courage, and Discipline. l want to practice and hone these attributes to become a leader that knows how to overcome the weaknesses of my team, identify their strengths, and guide them to collective success.I've always said that I look for career opportunities, not job opportunities. Every job I take and place I go I plan to either learn skills or earn qualifications that bring me one step closer to being the strong business leader I want to be. I've learned a lot of formal and informal skills in my first years in the corporate work environment. By working and studying simultaneously I have many chances to experience the theory I learn in class, and compare it to the limitations of a practical environment in the workplace. My current plan is to continue to earn years of work and experience with project management in the construction industry, to get my PMP certification, and then afterward either get my MBA or develop myself further with similarly challenging and interesting career opportunities.
