In 2019, Follett took over retail operations from my prior employer, Virginia Tech Services. While Follett had no equivalent local area AP Supervisor positions, I received a pay raise and continued my prior supervisor duties for former VTS stores with an emphasis on coordinating fixes with Follett's home office accounting team and using a variety of web-based portals, reports, and Excel to fix three-way matching, invoicing, credit, shrink, and inventory issues. I helped receive shipments for distribution, solved receiving issues, and maintained AP filing for the former VTS stores.During the transition from VTS to Follett, I was instrumental in coordinating a smooth AP transition by clearing up vendor balances and resolving complex transitional issues between the companies, working with two different accounting setups and company emails early in the transition. After my work focus shifted to Follett only, I consistently kept AP issues for store locations under my supervision among the lowest in the region.

I became Accounts Payable Supervisor in my final promotion at VTS prior to their leasing agreement with Follett. In this role I oversaw AP for over six store locations, using programs like Sage ERP, Sequoia, Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel to handle payment to vendors. I prepared AP aging reports and processed daily checks and biweekly runs for a variety of retail vendors as well as payments for rent, utilities, services, and university charges. i continued many of my prior AP Clerk duties in coding invoices to GL accounts and solving receiving, invoicing, three-way matching, and inventory issues. I created and maintained vendors in the ERP system, requested W-9s, reconciled vendor statements, solved payment issues, oversaw credit reconciliation for the seasonal textbooks returns process, paid the corporate credit card, reconciled management expenses and receipts to reimburse petty cash, and maintained AP filing.Office administration duties included sorting and distributing incoming mail for various departments and stores as well as routing customer, employee, and vendor calls to appropriate departments. I also wrote guidelines and documentation for myself and others including an AP clerk who I trained and supervised.

This involved extensive customer service and clerk training, especially during high-volume rush periods. I also led employee training sessions for new hires on store policy and point of sale system use.
