With LANXESS' recent acquisition of part of IFF (which greatly increases our business footprint in North America), the LANXESS Americas Supply Chain Team has been reimagined and the new position of Head of Supply Planning was created.Head of Supply Planning is responsible for regional supply planning and the Plan-To-Make process in the NAFTA region. This includes master, production, raw material, and replenishment planning for production, tolling and distribution sites in the region. Planning, execution, and optimization of regional material flows to achieve optimum material availability in terms of cost, service level, and to exceed market requirements are the goal of the NAFTA Supply Planning Team.In addition, the position incorporates evaluation of forecast data, customer orders, production capacity, inventories and lead times to challenge, validate, and confirm a feasible supply plan for the regional network. Other duties consist of:* Leading and preparing Supply Meetings in the region (production, tolling, distribution and raw materials). This also includes complete preparation of data and analysis to focus on pain points.* Management of daily master / production / replenishment planning and facilitation in case of allocation to find best possible solution with production, business, and within the supply chain.* Implementation and governance of standardized processes in line with regional strategy, specifically for Plan-To-Make.* Leading and developing the Supply Planning Team, driving utilization of digital tools, knowledge sharing, and continuous performance improvement.* Setting and controlling individual targets for team members for inventory, service level, and cost.* Preparing and analyzing KPI's for continuous improvement and leading / supporting projects in this area.

Responsible for all aspects of supply chain management within the MPP Business Unit in the Americas region, including Market Segments ACD, Bio - Wood, Bio - IP&C, and Beverage Technology. Work with Global MPP Supply Chain Team to roll out new SC organizational structure developed on the ONE MPP SC Project. Lead S&OP meetings (Sales & Operations Planning), coordinate production at multiple plant sites and tollers to meet forecasted demand, resolve all supply issues, track and manage inventory at all warehouse locations in North & South America. Work with Supply Chain colleagues in EMEA and APAC regions to coordinate and manage imports/exports between all LANXESS MPP manufacturing sites.* Lead implementation of tactical supply plans to ensure forecasted sales demand is met* Work with finance function to monitor monthly cost of manufacture such that product cost targets are achieved* Track supply chain KPI’s (Key Process Indicators) and report results; work with Global SC Team on development of new KPI's* Manage activities of direct reports in daily problem solving activities; foster team atmosphere between direct reports located in multiple locations within the Americas region* Develop long term strategic supply chain plans in conjunction with business objectives* Support SAP upgrade project

Lead issue resolution in all aspects of supply chain. Track and report key supply chain metrics; identify areas for improvement and lead improvement efforts via cross-functional teams.

Responsible for managing Black Belts that reported to me (~7-8 at any one time), including project work loading, timely project completion and financial validation, Six Sigma certification, and general career management for next assignments after Six Sigma. Lead 10+ complete Green Belt training sessions (3 weeks each) and was responsible for working with Green Belt trainees on completion of their projects and eventual certification. Certified 150+ Green Belts within DuPont. Reworked Green Belt training material to keep it current, implemented numerous changes in training material based on class learnings and suggestions. Certified as a Master Black Belt in June, 2001.

Responsible for helping to lead the way in DuPont’s implementation of Six Sigma. Was a member of the first group of DuPont employees that was trained in Six Sigma, had the very first project that was financially validated (final validation) in DuPont. Was a member of the first group of Black Belts that was certified by DuPont in June, 2000.

Implemented a new concept in capital project management in the Performance Chemicals Business Unit at Chambers Works Plant (Deepwater, NJ). Managed a small group of 6 engineers that were focused on the development and execution of capital projects. Responsible for working with area resources on scope development, writing project authorization paperwork, presenting projects to Business Directors for actual authorization, coordinating design resources, managing project spending, and overseeing construction by plant resources & outside contractors.

Responsible for all aspects of operations management of the Chambers Works Waste Water Treatment Plant, its associated furnaces (FR-1, FR-311, FR-312), and site Landfills. Passed 2 successful trials burns with the state of New Jersey on new furnaces (FR-311 and FR-312), implemented day-based supervision, set permit compliance record (60 weeks without a violation), received 1995 New Jersey Water Environment Association “Ecker Excellence in Industrial Wastewater Treatment Operations Award”. Group included 30+ wage roll employees and 10+ exempt employees.
