As a home energy auditor I evaluate the energy use and overall energy efficiency of a home and make recommendations about where to save energy and money. The process includes evaluating insulation levels, review of windows and doors, installed appliances and heating/cooling equipment. A blower door procedure is done to find areas of air leakage and safety performance testing is completed on combustion appliances. Infrared scanning is used to pinpoint air leaks, missing or low insulation and plumbing or roof leaks.
