The Southwestern Financial Analyst Program is made up of 10-11 students who manage over 2.5 million dollars (USD) of Southwestern University's endowment.I was one of three sophomores accepted into the program last year and am currently holding the position of accountant.My role as an accountant is to:- Determine the capital gain or loss and rate of return (annualized if held more than one year) on each completed transaction (buy & sell).- Determine monthly and report at our update meeting what the YTD and monthly rates of return were on the FAP Portfolio and on the S&P 500 Composite Index benchmark.- Obtain monthly and report at our update meeting Lipper Analytical’s average YTD and monthly rates of return for large-cap growth, mid-cap growth, small-cap growth, and multi-cap growth mutual fund managers.- Prepare and write up the various Accountant’s Reports and tables for the Annual Report. This includes the periodic buy and sell transactions, capital gains/losses, as well as the dividends and interest income received.- Monitor regularly and report any important investment news or information by email/meeting found in the investment newsletter or web site you have been assigned.

I have worked as a Teaching Assistant for 3 different classes. I have served as a Teaching Assistant for the Principles of Economics course, the Intermediate Microeconomics course, and the Finance course in the business and economics departments of Southwestern University. The work I have done so far includes: - Leading and facilitating review sessions to help undergraduate students build foundational economic skills- Demonstrating key solutions to common questions students will be expected to answer - Providing students with help on completing their homework assignments - Grading 25-50 students' homework assignments providing clear and timely feedback

I served as the treasurer of the fraternity Pike Kappa Alpha, where I managed an approximately $100,000 yearly budget.My responsibilities as treasurer included:- Managing the collection of all dues and fees from fraternity members- Collaborating with fellow officers and members to develop and implement financial policies and procedures- Creating an up-to-date Excel document detailing all payments and expenses throughout each semester- Presenting important financial information to alumni and fellow chapter members- Developing payment plans and incentive structures to improve the collection rate

Jolera provides technology managed services focused on cyber-security and cloud to a wide range of enterprise, mid-sized businesses and government agencies.My internship was an accelerated learning experience across a number of functional departments inclusive of finance, contracts and systems evaluation. Key responsibilities and projects included:Finance: - Executed analytics and accounts receivable/payables management of expenses, checks and invoicesContracts: - Responsible to review contracts for accuracy and to determine renewal and revenue opportunityWebsite and Customer Reports: - Aided in the translation of the company's website and editing customer reports Systems Evaluation Project: - Worked for CTO to Identify top options for budgeting and revenue forecasting software- Engaged with vendors to evaluate offerings via demos and research- Built an evaluation matrix, negotiated pricing and presented findings to CTO and head of finance- Assisted with negotiations and early implementation of the software chosenSkills demonstrated: ability to learn fast, problem solve, work independently, be accountable and stand out as a positive collaborator across many teams and individuals
