My practice based research is an exploration of human identity in urban environments, city morphology, soundscape ecology and the juxtaposition of natural and manufactured forms. Other areas of research include light photography and glitch-feedback video. My practice employs looped, reversed, speeded or slowed footage, abstraction, multiple frames and audio to stimulate a visceral response from the viewer. Since 2000 I have collaborated with musicians, sound artists and theatre companies to produce projections for live performances, music videos and video art. I am always seeking opportunities to discuss and collaborate with performers and artists. I have been an educator in Moving-Image Production since 1998. I deliver sessions on all aspects of Moving Image Production from Analysis and Deconstruction of Moving-Image Language, Planning (Idea generation, Treatment, Scriptwriting, Schedule), Production (Shooting, lighting & sound) to Post (Editing, viewing, reflection and evaluation). I teach both Fiction and Non-Fiction modules ranging from Drama, Documentary, Music and Promotional videos to Experimental film and Video Art.
