I am a multifaceted and solutions-focused medical doctor, board-certified anesthesiologist, and researcher accomplished in strategy planning and execution, clinical operations, practice of medicine and anesthesiology services with proficiency in neuroscience and physiology. I am knowledgeable in research trial writing, protocols, interpretation and analysis within ever-evolving healthcare, laboratory, and research settings requiring adaptability and decisiveness to succeed.I graduated from Brigham Young University in 2007 with a bachelors degree in Neuroscience. While there, I spent a significant amount of time in neuroscience research. I spent several years as a laboratory research assistant researching various different neuronal structures. In addition to helping perform some of these studies, I also wrote a grant and obtained funding to delve further into this research. After graduating I was award a fellowship grant to work at the National Institutes of Health where I participated in clinical and laboratory neurosurgical research. Here I also obtained and analyzed data, helped write grant proposals, and published several research articles. I attended medical school where I continued to find more avenues to pursue research; I worked with a neurosurgeon to better understand the cause of certain types of strokes that occur in neonates. Then after graduating from medical school I went to residency in anesthesiology at Texas A&M/Scott & White Hospital. While there I was able to participate in multiple research and educational opportunities. I was elected to be part of a quality council where we identified and remedied safety concerns throughout the hospital with commitment to alleviate any recurrences. I was also invited to an editorial assistant for a graduate medical education journal to review upcoming articles. Lastly, while in residency I was the resident medical student co-educator where we educated medical students on various topics and procedures used in the field of anesthesiology. After completing residency I started my first job as an attending physician in Folsom, CA. While here I became a partner in my group after one year and was asked to be a part of the physician wellness committee where as a collaborative committee, we focused on ensuring positive patient outcomes within a cohesive and productive environment and provided physicians with resources to ensure personal wellness and stress management. I then moved on to another job in American Fork, UT where I have continued my anesthesiology career.
