Choptank Riverkeeper And Director Of Riverkeeper ProgramsShoreriversEaston, Md, Us -
Choptank Riverkeeper/Director Of Riverkeeper ProgramsShorerivers Jan 2019 - PresentEaston, MdAs the Choptank Riverkeeper I work as a full-time advocate at every level for the protection and restoration of the Choptank River. This work ranges from community organizing and outreach, to water quality sampling and analysis, to environmental policy and enforcement. Whenever a decision needs to be made locally, state-wide or federally that could impact the river, I work to be the voice for the river in support of protection and restoration. As the Director of Riverkeeper Programs I help to lead our local and state-wide advocacy program. We have four full-time Riverkeepers including myself and as a program we work to join state-wide coalitions and other positions of influence, work with the Maryland General Assembly to identify solutions to the major issues threatening our local water quality, and we work collaboratively with local and state agencies yet we maintain an uncompromising voice for the science. -
