Student ConsultantMatrix Digital Systems Ltd Jul 2017 - Sep 2017Stoke-On-Trent, United KingdomAs part of my Masters in Human Resource Management, I took on a student consultation project in place of my dissertation. My student consultancy project, hosted by Matrix Digital, and in association with Keele University, initially set out to examine how people viewed biometrics, both in the public sense, and in the workplace. After scoping out the project, we realised that I could also examine how the changes the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) were bringing would affect Matrix digital; as well as the knowledge of the public and businesses surrounding the GDPR.The project itself was a major benefit to me on a personal level, as it gave me insight and knowledge into a fascinating up-to-date and current area, in the form of the GDPR; and it also gave me the opportunity to experience working in an office for the first time. It also allowed me to put the theory I had learned from my Masters, and put it into practice! In a business sense, the key three areas of knowledge I learned from this project were:• Knowledge of the GDPR, and how it will affect companies.• Research interview skills.• Business presentation skills. All of which will serve me well going into the future. -
