I have spent 10 years in the Engineering sector, having started my career at 16 as a Control and Instrumentation Apprentice at AWE. Following the completion of this apprenticeship I continued at AWE working within the ‘Security Maintenance Team’, through time to a point where I was supervising and leading a team working across a wide range of equipment and locations. To continue my growth after this role I recently moved into a role as a Technical Assistant/Adviser to the CIO, where I continued to develop my leadership and people management skills, effectively managing high level asks and questions both to and from the senior leadership, ensuring effective communication lines, and providing a knowledgable, technical mindset to supporting the CIO.
