• overall control of the company’s accounting function• financial planning and related ongoing advice to the Board• formulating financial targets and budgets inaccordance with the strategy determined by the board• overall control of all financial transactions andaccountancy matters, including audit systems• corporate finance: managing company policiesregarding capital requirements, debt, taxation, equityand acquisitions, as appropriate• preparing management & annual accounts• ensuring that the regulatory requirements of allstatutory bodies are met regarding all the company’sfinancial affairs

• Reporting to the Partner or the Director.• Working within teams and supervising and overseeing the work of seniors and trainee members of staff depending upon assignment.• Dealing with up to 100 clients spread throughout the country. Clients are sole traders, Partnerships and Limited Companies. • Dealing principally with professional Partnerships and small to medium sized companies, including a number of newly incorporated businesses. • Gaining experience in dealing with medium and large sized companies and Groups.• Review of work, assisting in departmental planning and undertaking departmental administration (audit). • Acting as a first point of contact throughout the year for the portfolio of clients as well as managing project costs.• Building and maintaining good relationships with clients as well as liaising with clients on any issues that arise.• Identify problem areas and suggesting solutions or seeking advice for solutions.• Working closely with the Tax Department who review the tax computations etc.• Involved in specialist assignments such as due diligence work. • Part of the firm’s quality control procedures, whereby all Limited Company accounts must be reviewed by him.• Involvement in recruitment and internal appraisals.• Working towards the Investors in People Standard.
