Matthew R. Bailey is the President of the National Association for Biomedical Research (NABR) and the Foundation for Biomedical Research. Originally from Arkansas, Mr. Bailey was appointed to serve as a Congressional Liaison for the U.S. Secretary of Commerce in 1996, and later went on to handle Congressional Affairs for the National Institute for Standards and Technology (NIST). Matt’s bi-partisan Capitol Hill experience includes his time as both a legislative aide for Democratic Senator Dale Bumpers of Arkansas and as an aide for Republican Representative Connie Morella of Maryland where he managed legislative issues coming before the House Science Committee. Today, Mr. Bailey manages two premier national non-profit organizations, advises corporate and university institutions on crisis management issues and communicates the value of biomedical research to policy makers and the media.
