I have also completed a safeguarding course as part of my role within BHA FC to understand issues from the wider community which we may see on shift. I was in charge of a ‘Spin-the-wheel’ game in the family stand, as part of the entertainment. This consisted of deciding prizes and managing large queues, as well as making it a fun and enjoyable experience for the children. Representing BHA, I had to ensure I was pleasant and approachable. I also took part in putting on, and taking off, a BHA FC crest in the middle of the pitch before kick-off. This had to be done rapidly, so leadership qualities and organisational skills were essential.I also chose to work Women’s games up at The People’s Pensions Stadium in Crawley. Here, I had to ensure the players’ seats all had BHA FC covers on, the main lounge had BHA FC banners all around and also had to give out merchandise to supporters. I also had to construct and deconstruct a pop-up shop and photo booth every week, as well as giving out flags to supporters.I also helped BHA to do children’s parties at the AMEX as well. Patience and leadership qualities were required to ensure safety of the children, whilst giving them an enjoyable day. Part of the proceedings a stadium tour where I, when we reached the home dressing room, would become the mascot, Gully.
