I studied clarinet performance at the University of Cape Town, the Royal College of Music in London, and the National Centre for Orchestral Studies in Greenwich.I taught at Westerford High School for seven years before starting Playing with Fire in the year 2000.Playing with Fire supplies duos, trios, quartets and larger ensembles for weddings and events. The ensembles include a French quartet ("Ooh La La"), a jazz duo/trio, a Balkan band and a Klezmer band.Something of a specialist in Klezmer music, I directed the music for the Yiddish Song Festival in Cape Town which ran for 11 years.I started a concert series in Constantia in 2014 which hosts a classical or folk concert once a month at Christ Church.I am also a qualified teacher of the Alexander Technique and masseur.
