With my core values encompassing environmental conservation, my career aspirations involve implementing renewability and sustainability in the energy, mining, or waste sectors. After completing the HSC and achieving DUX at Coffs Harbour Senior College, I am presently undertaking a Bachelor of Science majoring in Applied Mathematics and Materials Chemistry at the University of Newcastle (2021-2024). With over 5 years of experience working in customer service in hospitality and retail, I am currently working as a Duty Manager at Dan Murphy's, supervising and coordinating a team through the opening and closing of trade; managing and auditing the flow of stock; in addition to the handling of cash and operation of POS systems. My analytical skills are evident in my Chemistry major, as the identification and quantification of chemical species require experimental design and refining, in addition to employing laboratory skills and using spectroscopic machinery to measure chemical compounds. This has allowed me to both design and take attention to detail when planning and executing tasks in the workplace. Utilising complex problem solving and numeracy skills is essential in solving mathematical problems. Identifying the type of problem and the best method to approach the task is crucial in any area of Mathematics- Multivariable Calculus, Differential Equations, modelling and optimisation. This is transferrable in the workforce, as I am often tasked with the audit and investigation of stock, in addition to counting and balancing the tills and safe. Employing these skills allow for the efficient and adequate execution fo the task at hand. Through my time management skills, I am able to balance working and studying full time, allowing my continued education in both academia and in the workforce. Other attained skills include; interpersonal skills, written and oral communication, teamwork and team leadership, and flexibility and adaptability.
