I am process oriented and enjoy solving complex problems that let me show and grow my skills. I have always known that I wanted to be an engineer. Taking things apart, seeing how they work, and putting them back together… mostly (that extra screw isn’t important, right?).Out of all the engineering fields, I went into Civil Engineering because I have always been fascinated by tall and unique structures. Whether a building is 100 stories tall or seems supported on air, there is always a clear, physically sound way it works—designed by an engineer. And I want to be the engineer.At the University of Kansas, I was fortunate enough to work on multiple reinforced concrete research projects. I then went to Virginia Tech where I received my master's degree, emphasizing structural engineering.Recently I have been working as a real estate agent. Being an agent has been very rewarding and a phenomenal learning experience. The biggest misconception people have about real estate agents is that all we do is open doors and write contracts. For some agents this is true (much to the detriment of their clients). But for me, being an agent is about communication and building trust. Buying and selling a home is a complex process and it’s the most expensive decision most people will make. As an agent, I get to be their guide and advisor.
