Matt Rogie is a leadership development coach who brings over 34 years of leadership experience & training from his service in the U.S. Army and then as a cross-cultural missionary trainer & practitioner. Matt brings a passion and unique story to his work believing that we should not just settle for surviving each day but instead that we should be thriving each day. His experiences, along with a partnership with GiANT Worldwide, enables him to use simple tools and resources to bring out the best in someone.Matt served for 22 years in the U.S. Army with 20 of those years as a helicopter pilot. At the half way mark of his service he volunteered and was selected to serve in the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (SOAR) where he completed the remainder of his time in service. Matt’s first combat deployment was in January 2002 to Afghanistan and by the time he retired in 2010 he had completed 8 combat deployments to Afghanistan & Iraq. Matt planned and flew countless combat missions supporting US Army Rangers, Green Berets, Navy SEALS, and other special operation units.When Matt retired from the U.S. Army, he and his wife Stacie served in ministry as missionaries along with their son Nick for 2 years overseas. After returning Matt assumed a role of mobilizing, training, coaching and recruiting others into missions. It was during this time that Matt began to unpack some of his experiences from his combat deployments in the military and seek out ways to wake up each day not just trying to survive, but thrive as a leader, husband, father and friend. One of the fruits of this period of growth was a video podcast series called Thriving on Mission were he shares with veterans and other listeners his story of learning how to thrive, not just survive, as a combat veteran.
