While working at Kaplan Kirsch and Rockwell, I engaged with a range of legal issues and worked on a variety of projects being handled by the firm. I was tasked with drafting a contract administration guide for use by a client in relation to a public infrastructure design-build contract. This guide synthesized and simplified the operational requirements within the contract. I also conducted a wide array of legal research, from state and local taxation rules to corporate land leasing from tribal governments. Additionally, I worked with the other clerks on a Supreme Court term review Continuing Legal Education session that was presented to KKR attorneys as well as attorneys from the Front Range. Additionally, throughout the summer I worked on editing and researching attorney articles on topics from public-private partnerships to conservation easements.

Throughout my time at Keystone with Mountain Safety, I have served as a main on-mountain point of contact for guests. In this role, I am responsible for, among other things, injury response, assisting lost guests, and enforcing the skier responsibility code. Additionally, I am responsible for the setting up and maintenance of on-mountain signage, fencing, and rope closures. I also serve as a Safety Class Instructor, tasked with educating skier safety violators on the topics covered by, rationale behind, and importance of the skier and rider responsibility code, and skier and rider safety more generally. During the 2017-2018 season, I received Employee of the Month and earned top marks on my end-of-year evaluation.

As a legal intern with CAA ICON, I was exposed to a range of legal issues and ongoing business projects being handled by the company, ranging from contract review, amendments, and negotiation to technology license review. I analyzed current company technology licenses to ensure adherence to company policies and suggested amendments to protect the company in its use of the relevant software and services. I reviewed contracts and drafted language for review by the General Counsel for a range of contracts and agreements for use in current and prospective projects. Additionally, I worked with the marketing department to ensure company compliance with partner organization policies and developed a presentation on non-disclosure agreements and prudent social media use.

As a paralegal at Akin Gump, I was involved in a variety of projects covering an array of legal topics, including litigation, real estate, mergers and acquisitions, telecommunications, and international trade. I served as the lead paralegal in a large-scale international trade contracts review, where I was in charge of review process generation and oversight, document system and document management, and personnel management across the three offices involved. Additionally, I served as the sole, lead paralegal for multiple large real estate portfolio purchases, managing our due diligence review and attorney review assignments as well as document compilation and generation. Additionally, I was the sole paralegal involved with a multi-plaintiff litigation matter, where I reviewed and organized document production and drafted simple motions. I received high praise for my work throughout my time at Akin Gump.

As a Senior Editor of the Opinion Section at The Michigan Daily, I coordinated the production of material from the Opinion section on a daily basis. This includes maintaining the production schedule for Columnists and Bloggers as well as assisting in leading Editboard, the editorial body tasked with the production of Editorials on behalf of The Michigan Daily. In addition, I was responsible for the implementation of the new writers training course for Opinion Section writers, which I created while an Assistant Editor for the Opinion Section.

During my time as an Assistant Editor of the Opinion Section at The Michigan Daily, the independent student publication at the University of Michigan, I planned the training course for the section's new writers and aided in the daily functionality of the section. I laid out the opinion page, using InDesign, edited content for style, clarity, and content, and aided in coordinating the production schedule.

I worked in the Office of Dennis Bevington, the Canadian House of Commons Representative for the Northwest Territories. During my time there, I conducted research on the Arctic policies of the Arctic Nations for use in the updating of the policy briefing book that is distributed by the office. In addition, I did policy analysis for issues presented to the Committee on Environment and Sustainable Development and drafted briefing notes on Committee hearings for distribution to the Committee members.

While a Project Assistant at Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer and Feld, I worked intimately with Associates and Partners on a litigation team at the firm, assisting with document review and document production. I was in charge of documenting and cataloging over 3,000 documents pertaining to a current case. I drafted a confidentiality agreement, for attorney review, for use in securing the services of a third-party company.

During my time as the Lead Sailing Instructor at the UCLA Marina Aquatic Center's Summer Sailing Camp, I was tasked with maintaining the different sailing programs that were run through the camp as well as coordinating with the two other camps that were run through the Marina Aquatic Center. I, along with the other sailing instructors, developed lesson plans for the campers, based on their abilities as sailors, and implemented these programs on a weekly basis. I oversaw this implementation and dealt with any interactions with parents of my campers that occurred. I coordinated with the two other camps that were operated through the Marina Aquatic Center and assigned staff accordingly in order to handle the needs of the various camps and ensure enough equipment was available for safe use by all the camps.
