During my youth, I spent significant time in Hong Kong, where I grew up watching my father work in investment banking. This created a fascination of why certain business models succeed whilst others fail.As a 2022 HSC Graduate of Saint Ignatius' College Riverview, I further developed this interest, which is why I've decided to study a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Advanced Studies (Dalyell Scholars) at the University of Sydney. Recognising the continued growth of the Asia-Pacific region and its impact on business and technological development, I aim to combine my business interests with my language abilities of Chinese and Korean to equip me with the skills and knowledge to succeed in this ever-changing business environment.I’ve gained valuable experience through internships at KPMG, Longreach Alternatives, and Macquarie. At KPMG, I audited a global alternatives asset manager, refining my skills in audit and assurance. At Longreach Alternatives, I worked as a Product Analyst, where I focused on fund structuring, product disclosure statement analysis and due diligence. As a Finance Intern at Macquarie, I applied my project management and management accounting skills to support the company’s growth initiatives. I also hold leadership positions at University societies and have learned valuable lessons in time management, communication and working with others from diverse backgrounds and perspectives.I am looking for opportunities to learn about different business models, develop professionally and hope to connect with others from whom I might learn from as my future develops.
