As an Undergraduate Research Assistant, I contribute to a cutting-edge project aimed at developing a self-harm detection system for quad rotor UAVs. Under the guidance of Dr. Halder and in collaboration with a PhD student, I handle key technical tasks, including performing 2D flow simulations using Xfoil to analyze aerodynamic properties and conducting 3D flow simulations over ellipsoid shapes to further refine the design.In addition to my simulation work, I play a vital role in the drone's physical construction, aiding in its manufacturing process from the ground up. The ultimate goal of the project is to create a machine learning model that efficiently and accurately predicts thrust values based on RPM by utilizing onboard flight data. This system will enhance the drone's performance and reliability, potentially leading to advancements in UAV self-monitoring capabilities.
