DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:- Design, develop, prioritize, and coordinate the PLC Control System for the Herbalife Operations. Provide a clear plan for the direction of the controls system moving forward.- Collaborate in the development of, and conduct, training of line and maintenance personnel to strategically operate, maintain, and upgrade the installed control systems.- Develop and conduct component and equipment validation and qualification testing to ensure proper performance to specifications.- Approve equipment vendors, sources, and specifications depending on the manufacturing needs and costs reduction requirements. Interact with testing labs to analyze and evaluate data testing results.- Lead and leads all aspects of the activities of the internal and contract staff.- Interact with multiple departments including Manufacturing, Marketing, Quality Control, Global - -Licensing, Inventory Control, Product Development, IT/IS, and Industrial Engineering regarding equipment controls and SCADA activities as related to the projects.- Develop maintenance systems required to support the installed control system. Interacts with all levels throughout the organization, distributors, customers, and vendors. This will additionally include the commissioning and operator training of production equipment.- Serve as a project manager for installation of control systems. Write specifications for controls hardware/software, prepare drawings, design systems, lead all aspects of bid procedures, work with purchasing, prequalify bidders, lead installation/integration, train, test, and merge into existing systems.Program PLC’s, HMI’s, and SCADA systems to improve and upgrade the existing systems.- Assist production and maintenance to tackle problems with equipment and systems.- Perform additional duties as assigned.

Responsible for overseeing Automation, Controls, and Electrical for the laminate division of Mannington Mills. Duties include, but not limited to:- Maintain Documentation on all major controls systems to minimize the risk ofsubstantial downtime due to control system failure- Provide technical support and where necessary on-site support- Manage current back-ups of all PLC programs, Drive parameters, HMI programs,and other configurations for the site- Implement and manage proper Preventative Maintenance for all major control systems on-site tooverall reduce total cost in manufacturing- Work with each area to develop remote access capabilities for all controls systems.- Make necessary program changes or hardware upgrades to all control systems where needed to improve operation while always meeting code and safety expectations- Implement new projects for all types of controls systems in Calhoun including robotics systems, automated systems, drive systems, and other control systems in the operation- Design, install, maintain, and repair all control systems including Allen-Bradley PLC’s, Siemens PLC’s, and associated HMI’s.- Prepare full specifications and bid packages for new project work when needed.

Responsible for full electrical scope of client projects. A Systems Engineer is responsible for designing and implementing customer building automation projects. Day to day tasks will be determined by the specific requirements of each project. Following is a chronological overview of a typical project and the tasks that may be required from a Systems Engineer. Percentages represent the tasks relative effort but will vary from project to project.Instrumentation & Electrical Design (20%)• Create instrument lists by examining P&ID drawings• Research instrumentation (temperature transmitters, pressure transmitters, flow meter, valve actuators, etc…) and select devices appropriate for the project• Research and select controls hardware appropriate for the project• Compile submittal documentation for controls and instrument hardware• Create panel layouts and electrical schematics for controls enclosures• Procure project hardware• Provide technical support for panel fabrication technicians• Inspect completed control enclosuresSystem Design and Configuration (50%)• Participate in customer design review meetings• Assemble development system using project hardware and computers• Configure user interface and HMI screens• Configure DDC, PLC and/or DCS control algorithms• Execute internal functional and quality control testing• Draft system documentation• Assist is customer demonstrations and acceptance testingOnsite System Startup (30%)• Install project software and configuration onto site systems• Participate in point to point loop checks for all instrumentation• Perform software calibration and tuning• Conduct functional tests of all systems• Troubleshoot installation discrepancies• Support additional customer testing• Program field modifications as required• Train customer representatives on operations and maintenance of system

Perform field service engineering services that include startup, instrument calibrations, site acceptance testing and training for industrial automation projects.
