I am a Staff Officer in Equity and Women's Services at the provincial ETFO office. The responsibilities for this position include advocacy for public education, collaboration with partners and delivering programming and services for ETFO members.This portfolio includes: - Development and Implementation of the organization's provincial multi-year addressing Anti-Black racism strategy eg, Black Canadian curriculum resources and workshops, the annual Black History Month poster, developing workshops for faculties of education and the development of Code Black, a conference for Black members. - 2SLGBTQ+ programs, services and resource development eg. LGBTQ Education Timeline Project with the Arquives, Positive space resources, GSA Symposium, 2SLGBTQ+ Conference, Implementation of ETFO Transgender Policy, plus staff development/training, development of a resource bank webpage and resources Annual Day of Pink poster/flyer, resource list and t-shirt, Curriculum development in Equity and Social Justice: CRRP Culturally Relevant and Responsive Pedagogy resource guide and workshop, Social Justice and Health and Wellness conferences for Men and an annual conference for Racialized Members.

Over the course of 11 years, I worked primarily as an Junior/Intermediate English and Math teacher. I also served as a Special Education Resource Teacher and covered various subjects including French.

I was responsible for supervising, caring for and providing a safe and supportive environment for the three to five young men daily between the ages of twelve and sixteen. This included care during the day and overnight. I was required to work collaboratively with various partners to meet the needs of the youth, work with the youth, child/youth workers, and provide input on their next steps and short term plans.
