As the lead architect for Kaiser Permanent I help oversee not only our technical team and architecture for our traditional technology, but also help create architectures for solutions that will solve the requirements of healthcare for the next 10 years. On the traditional side, Cisco supports Kaiser's LAN, WAN, Data Center, WLAN, Security, Collaboration, and Video solutions. I work with our technical team to ensure that these solutions are designed in such a way to support over 1100 locations, 175,000+ employees and over 11 million members. Beyond those traditional settings as the CSA with Kaiser, I am charged with taking major industry trends including care anywhere, consumerization of healthcare, and Internet of Everything. Working to support Kaiser with these major industry transitions is a key component of my daily job.

I support one of the largest healthcare providers in the country providing product and architecture design support focusing on Wireless and Security solutions. Specifically I work with this customer to tie business requirements such as helping clinicians be more efficient with their work time or helping members navigate confusing medical centers with Cisco's technical capabilities. This role is about finding solutions to very specific requirements while supporting a large and complex technical environment with over 9 million members and 250,000+ employees.

The global content team creates the content strategy for Cisco Lives, Cisco's flagship customer conference. This strategy includes selecting all content seen by attendees in traditional classroom settings (~750 sessions), keynotes (12), hands-on labs (~100) and several non-traditional educational programs including 1:1 meetings, whiteboard technical clinics and lunchtime table topics. This team works closely with experts from all areas of the business including engineering, marketing, and services to create a cohesive experience for the attendees regardless of what educational activity they are participating in.In addition, this team is also tasked with helping to reinvent the educational experience in the classroom to increase retention of the material while improving the overall satisfaction of attendees.

The EIR program is designed to take a small select group of Entrepreneurial individuals to help create new business units for Cisco. This role encompassed the creation of a new product idea, building the business case to demonstrate the billion dollar opportunity, building proof of concept models, testing the market through early customer research and ultimately presentations to Cisco's top leadership for funding. The project idea that was worked on was the creation of a truly interactive classroom for major events for both in-person and remote attendees.

My team leads an effort to take disparate technologies from Cisco and its partners and combine them into solution architectures that bring business relevance to IT departments. Using open services as well as purposely built industry solutions we help demonstrate the impact that the network can have on operational efficiency, customer satisfaction and overall employee productivity at some of our top customers.

Coming from the Aironet wireless communication company that was acquired by Cisco I was part of a field support technical team that helped deploy wireless networks in some of the most challenging environments including nuclear power plants, airports and convention centers. I ended this position by creating the first set of wireless voice standards for 802.11 VoIP.

I am currently the Administrative and Events chairperson for the FAST group. In this role I manage our 400+ medical volunteers that we have on our team as well as manage our relationship with over 200 events that we support each year throughout the region.

For this summer internship my project was to design, code and implement a supply logistics program for the lighting divisions supply chain. This included hands-on field work at the lighting plants as well as extensive calls into numerous system databases. This project led to the earning of Intern of the Year.

Working in a lab focusing on the Human Genome Project, I was part of a team writing adaptive intelligent code to recognize repetitive variable length DNA sequences using Pearl SQL programming language.
