I am a primary school educator with over twelve years of experience working in a range of teaching roles and settings including as an early childhood educator in ACT Public schools, a Year 6 teacher in ACT and WA schools, a language proficiency educator in remote schools in Bhutan and a Music and Physical Education specialist. I am a committed practitioner-researcher and have completed research into the following areas: the use of play-based literacy approaches for reluctant writers; practices for enhancing early childhood student engagement during online learning and how teacher values, beliefs and attitudes on classroom management are evolving in ACT Public Education. I am currently completing a Master of Education degree at the University of Canberra. My areas of interest in teaching and research include the application of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ways of knowing, being and doing to enhance adoption of sustainable practices and the implementation of guidance-based approaches to classroom management in government schools. I served as a Lead Collaborator on the University of Canberra's Country as Teacher program in 2020-2021 and co-presented at the 2021 University of Canberra Affiliated Schools Conference.
