CurrentGlobal Communication providing voice and data around the world. With satellites in a geosynchronous orbit around earth and stations at ground level, a global coverage can be made to provide an infrastructure for voice and data services. I work in Off Air Monitoring System, we capture data off air and provide engineering to billable information. The projects worked/led on:• UEP (User Enquiry Process) An in house application; Java based, for presenting real time capture of data for the analysis of protocol over our global network. Client-server application where UEP interacts with a backend process Remote Enquiry Process (REP), C++ based, communication done via CORBA.• Maritime Safety and Distress ServiceInmarsat-C Safety Service over BGAN. Safety service, allows two way communication, shore-to-ship, ship-to-shore and ship-to-ship. Messages were passed from Inmarsat-C to BGAN service, messages placed on a message queue, captured by using the Acquisition Filling Process (AFP) and presented on an in house application, UEP.• PILOTSA solution to get position information of the older generation satellites. A channel was isolated and measured, any deviation in the signal; frequency or strength, over several sites would provide position information. Capture and presentation of such information was sent as data to INMS (Inmarsat Network Management System). Primarily C++, presentation was in UEP• URS (Universal Relay System)Providing billing and position information for newer Inmarsat services, Java and Camel used. • Processing toolsSelection and processing of captured data. This involved writing scripts in Perl, management site in C# and ASP.NET. To analyse, manipulate and convert data captured into formats for other systems, C++/Boost used
