Over my life, I have understood there are different values and stories to be told by data. From my Bachelor's Degree in Geology analyzing different geologic formations or mineral generation in thin sections to determine the natural order of formation, to my Master's Degree in Finance focusing on Data Analytics to provide actionable information for corporate leadership, there has always been value and interest in the analytic process. In my current position as a Civil and Structural Inspector, it has been crucial to be detail oriented to verify the work being completed as well as to successfully prepare for the upcoming work to be completed. The smallest details on construction plan sets can make the difference of whether a wall is structurally supporting the building or could fail. There is something about finding a detail or piece of data that others have skipped over and understanding the importance of that seemingly arbitrary information that drives me to keep looking for the full story. I enjoy learning new material and have constantly stated that I would love to continue attending colleges and college degrees as a retirement activity. Throughout the Master's of Finance Degree, I was introduced to multiple programming languages that include Python, SAS, and SQL that have sparked a new drive for continued education. Although they were introductory courses, I plan to continue my education is each of these languages and become proficient.
