Matthew Sutton has more than three decades of global executive leadership experience at the intersection of environment, engineering, energy and economic development. His distinguished career has resulted in significant private and public environmental contributions to society, business and the world at large. His current focus is on environmental restoration, climate change/adaptation, sustainability, global energy transitions and leveraging artificial intelligence to safeguard natural and human engineered systems on which society depends. Matthew was most recently President, CEO and Board Director at Matrix Solutions, a leading, middle market pure play environmental and engineering consulting firm based in Canada. For nearly 40 years, the 100% employee-owned company has evolved client-centric solutions and teams to meet the needs of public and private sector clients in markets ranging from infrastructure and mining to renewable energy and oil and gas. Matthew was a principal investor and SVP for Corporate Development at ehsAI, a next wave compliance technology company that uses artificial intelligence to reduce permitting and compliance costs and risks for industrial, commercial and public organizations. Matthew’s career highlights include serving as President, Chief Executive, and Executive VP for the world’s top environmental and consulting and engineering organizations (CH2M/Jacobs, AECOM, ARCADIS). He has channeled his lifelong passion for addressing environmental challenges into stewardship of the most influential global multi-billion dollar environmental businesses and leadership of 15,000 professionals delivering comprehensive environmental services worldwide. He has garnered over 25 environmental industry awards during his tenures and is a frequently invited panelist and keynote speaker for global environmental industry conferences and forums.
