My Lean journey started with six years of experience in a Lean/TQM factory, Philips Ultrasound, where I found something that gave me joy in the workplace, and it re-defined my future. I certified in Team Lead: Advanced Lean Training where we learned and developed in the use of: A3 project management, kaizens, 6s, root cause analysis, process documents, standard work, and value stream mapping. I left only because I knew I needed a deeper education in the parent of Lean ideologies, Industrial Engineering. I graduated mcl in 2022 with a B.S. in Industrial & Systems Engineering from NC State University.I was drawn deeper to this field by experiencing & witnessing Continuous Improvement cultures improve the wellbeing of the front-line employees. By empowering the people that build the product we are able to tap into insights that cannot be gained any other way. Additionally, the front-line employee deserves the best care we can give for their wellbeing, and C.I. culture, done right, encourages and rewards safety improvements along with organizational and transactional efficiencies.The current chapter of my journey is here in North Carolina with HemoSonics as a manufacturing engineer, where I am driving process improvements and efficiencies as well as manufacturing support, non-conformance engineering, and all the 'figure it out' work that engineers love!
