About Matthew Tate

I believe that every child has a right to attend a good school and as a teacher, a senior leader and a Headteacher, I have an absolute drive to ensure that the schools I am working with provide quality education whatever the circumstances. As the founding Headteacher of a free school I have worked within the governors’ vision to create, in five terms, a school that achieved ‘Good’ in all areas and to quote the inspector is ‘on its way to outstanding’. I have worked with primaries and the local community to establish Trinity as a heavily oversubscribed school which is absolutely committed to every child.I believe that schools need to work in partnership to achieve the best for the children in particular area and have a track record of working across phases and schools to rapidly improve outcomes.

Founding Headmaster at Trinity School which opened in September 2013. The school opened with 90 children in 2013 and has since gone on to be heavily oversubscribed and the 7th most popular school in Kent.Took the school through a £19 milion pound building project from original design stage to delivery.A few quotes from Ofsted:After five terms of opening the school achieved good in all areas with a very positive Ofsted report:Leaders have created a unique ‘Trinity Way’, founded on the school’s core set of values with a strong Christian emphasis of truth, excellence, love, leadership and service. This is fully in keeping with the Christian vision of the founding organisation, Sevenoaks Christian Education Trust. There is a strong sense of purpose for the school.Leaders are committed to achieving excellence for all members of the community. All members of the Trinity community are committed to enabling all students equally to achieve the fullness of their academic and human potential. All leaders are passionate and enthusiastic and have made substantial progress in establishing a good school in challenging circumstances.Since the school opened, leaders have created sophisticated, technology-driven systems for checking students’ achievement, monitoring teachers’ performance and recording incidents.Disadvantaged students and those with disabilities or special educational needs often do as well as their classmates and, in some subjects, they do even better. The great majority of students make expected levels of progress in all subjects. A good proportion of each year group exceeds national expectations in many subjects. The school provides many opportunities for students to exhibit appropriate leadership behaviours. The ‘ambassador’ role is a good example. On entering lessons, ‘ambassadors’ greet visitors warmly and set out clearly what the class is learning. They are able to talk enthusiastically about work they and their peers have produced.
