I am working on a collaborative project between Prevention Is Key and the Morris County Division of Public Health.-Collect and analyze Morris County COVID-19 cases from a demographic perspective Analyze trends for new cases, hospitalizations, ICU admissions, and deaths daily, weekly, and monthly based on metrics such as percent positivity, percent change difference, and incidence rate-Create and disseminate vaccination reports for county planning with a focus on evaluating municipalities for gaps in immunizations for people with at least 1 dose, courses completed, and booster doses-Enter breakthrough and school cases for municipalities and assist with outbreaks-Collaborate with Atlantic Health Systems to analyze vaccine clinic and homebound vaccination data and create reports to create a vaccination promotion campaign via an interview-presentation from an epidemiological lens-Track the county contact tracer/case investigator workforce-Collect and analyze county testing site data-Collect and analyze exposures/activities leading to COVID-19 infection-Generate CDRSS, and CommCare data reports on cases and contacts (isolation & quarantine metrics)-Trained in NJIIS (state vaccination system) to analyze vaccine breakthrough cases and create vaccination summary reports by municipality-Trained in EpiCenter and utilize to analyze COVID-19 emergency department trends-Participate in trainings/courses including certificate classes for continuing education via Coursera and public health credentialing bodies-Participate in meetings with state, county, and local partners -Work on other diseases/conditions such as STDs, foodborne, heavy metals, immediately reportable, infectious, vector-borne, zoonoses, and opioid overdoses via public health surveillance to analyze and disseminate reports-Conduct research/data projects for Prevention Is Key such as harm reduction, needs assessments, and substance misuse data pertaining to counties PIK serves

Project Cope and P-CASA focus on helping and preventing substance abuse, HIV/AIDS, and health promotion and awareness in Hispanic and African American youth in Paterson, New Jersey. I was a student intern working on how marijuana legalization would negatively impact the youth of Paterson, NJ. My internship focused upon health policy as a result. I researched literature reviews and disseminated my findings to assist the organization in effectively helping Paterson youth. In addition, I collected data to assist the organization determine the issues facing the community and how to combat them. I also supported and taught the health education curriculum for the local high schools in Paterson.

I conducted biometric screenings for various companies' employees. These screenings focused on preventative care and promoted health while raising awareness at the same time. I led participants through a whole screening process that included calculating Body Mass Index by measuring height and weight, measuring waist circumference, and finger sticking which told me triglyceride levels, cholesterol levels, and glucose levels. Also, I did blood pressure measurements with the participants. Some events entailed other services such as Dermascans which looks at skin health, Cotinine tests which looks at the health of the mouth, and A1C tests which involves finger sticking. The A1C test provides a three month average of blood sugar levels in a participant and can indicate whether they are at risk for Diabetes. Furthermore, at the end of all the tests, I coached the participants and advised them on how they could improve their health by providing them with recommendations.

Scranton, Pennsylvania Area

I worked with the Wellness Committee at the Saint Joseph's Center to create a health and wellness program for employees to enhance their awareness and knowledge of the dangers of heart disease and stroke. I developed a communicative tool to reach all employees about the significance of my message. The tool I developed was a survey, which was distributed before and after the employees received information regarding heart health and wellness.
