Developing a holistic approach to the design development and usage of storage systems, and medical devices used in hospitals, pharmacies and professional medical environments.Discussing and liaising with hospital representatives to layout a plan of our storage system which incorporates best practice guidelines to the safer design of the dispensing environment.I have actioned and implemented a complete re-design of the standard pull out drawer system; enhancing the aesthetics, functionality and value for money whilst dramatically improving the process to allow UK manufacturing and streamlined the product to give minimal parts and maximise stock efficiencies. Giving greater flexibility with minimal stock holdings.Developed a new range of modular clinical furniture to suit clinical surgeries, veterinary practices and dentist surgeries, with a flexible approach to choice and assembly as well as lean manufacturing to ultimately deliver an attractive quality product at a fair price.

As part of my development in the consumer electronics and furniture industry I am involved in all aspects of design and development for the Iconic brand of furniture and accessories.From liaising with clients and initial concept generation through to product sourcing, supplier vetting and manufacture.Analysis of the market it s a key objective to assess and review where the missing product and price need to be.It is then my responsibility to absorb and use this data to innovate and create new and exciting products which sit firmly in our range and within the company ethos of a good product at a reasonable price, quality with value for money, yet firmly in line with company profit expectations.

Responsible for the planning coordinating and implementation of campaigns for multiple companies including Tpad, Supanet business, Supanet, Planet Ink, GET property management and Total care. Along with the tracking and reporting on the level of success through inbound calls, Google analytics and data improvement. As part of my role I was instrumental in setting up a desk team performing outbound calls to cleanse data and provide qualified leads to the sales team. This involved a level of training and designing of the profiling system to qualify these leads. I was also charged with the creation of a new website for Tpad, including sitemap creation and approval of look and feel and final proof of the functionality and copy with our Dubai based web design team and ensured that they delivered the required website by communicating my creative briefs clearly and effectively to motivate the team and to get it right first time.

DSG was involved in Renewable Energy and Carbon Reduction research working to produce a CHP system around an innovative micro turbine for domestic and commercial use.I was the lead creative in sourcing the website and keeping it on a strict budget and timeline; I achieved the creation and launch of the company website within a 4 week deadline, including the rebranding of the company image to reflect the renewable energy sector. Generation of new parametric models which allowed any dimensional change to alter and produce the final 3D CAD model, the changing of these parameters allowed an almost infinite number of final products to be produced.Using Solidworks and Adobe Creative Suite I designed and developed a number of components for the project and created visuals for the Website and promotional literature.

A significant period of my career was spent with Alphason Designs and latterly under the AIM 100 listed owner Armour Home. I learned many disciplines and I had many design and managerial responsibilities. These key skills and achievements are as follows:Leadership – Promoted to the role of senior designer, I devised and implemented an entire design process system; decreasing waste time and increasing professionalism throughout the company. Responsible for a team of 4 designers and ensuring that all projects were communicated and handled professionally and within strict deadlines.Manufacturing Knowledge – Assessed and improved manufacturing, packing and assembly of product ranges and ensured subcontractors manufactured to the correct methods for speed, quality and cost through the implementation of strict contractual Service Level Agreements. This lead to a 35% reduction in raw material costs for certain products and increased profitability for the company.Retail Pricing and Cost of Manufacture - mentored by the Accounts director; I was given the best training in collating and calculating all associated costs (both fixed and variable) of manufacture in order to decide if a product would be in line with both the market pricing and our company profit expectations.Procedures - Devised and implemented the first project tracking folder and sign on / sign off procedure in the company. Implemented and owned ISO 9001 accreditation for the design department. Design – Designed and sourced numerous products to be manufactured either in the UK or globally. Introduced a range of glass furniture which became the largest element of the company’s sales for over 5 years; and contributed to over 60% of the company’s profit during this period of growth.

I spent 12 months working on-site at ABB derby works, contributing to the technical drawing and installation layout guides for the Royal mail project.
