    The goal of the IPOLE project was to invent, prototype, explore and demonstrate applications of sensors and machine-to-machine communication. Swisscom provided a test network for us to use. Only a select few from our course were eligible to take part in this project based on 2nd year grade results. We were able to work in collaboration with colleagues from a range of different universities from places such as Switzerland, Germany and China, working in mixed groups to create diverse outcomes. Working with others from different backgrounds has really given me an insight in to how work methods differ between cultural backgrounds. It's not always easy and adapting to their way to thinking has been eye opening.With the project we got to travel over to Switzerland on two occasions to meet up with Swisscom representatives. On the second and final trip I headed up the presentation of our final products which was to around 40-50 people. I also was the lead creative, helping to create dashboard and app interfaces, including 3d mock ups of the physical product. The project went well and I learnt a lot through the process. Swisscom also really liked our idea which is always a bonus.
