The SE&I team is responsible for providing technical expertise to enable and support product introduction to Ciena's regional field teams and customers.

Working in the Modules Calibration and Test team at Lumentum. Focused on improving the software used to test Wavelength Selective Switch products and running tests to calibrate the WSS products from Lumentum.

Performed optical verification tests using tunable laser sources and swept wavelength systems to perform general optical performance tests, port isolation tests, return loss tests, and directivity tests on wavelength selective switches. Wrote Python scripts to automatically collect and analyze the optical verification test data. Analyzed optical test data and wrote reports on the findings.

Integrated artificially intelligent video processing software with an Nvidia Jetson Nano based system to automatically count different species of migratory shorebirds in the James Bay area. Implemented and trained an artificial intelligence-based system to detect objects in videos in real time using Opendatacam and the YOLO detection algorithm.

Supervised and trained wading pool attendants to ensure the safety of the park participants. Opened and closed the pool and supervised daily pool maintenance to maintain and monitor water quality.

Guarded participants in the wading pool/park area to ensure their safety. Performed daily pool maintenance to maintain and monitor the water quality levels and park safety.

Designed and taught workshops about electronics and robotics for elementary level students. Tested and maintained equipment including 3D printers, circuits, robotics, and computers for use in summer camps and workshops.
