Matthew joined Information Junction in 2008 providing consultancy services in information quality, enterprise architecture, ontology and data modelling. Since 2016 he has been contrbuting to the UK's National Digital Twin programme, in particular helping to develop its Information Management Framework.Prior to this he worked for Shell since 1978, and since 1987 on the computing/business interface with a particular interest in Information Management and Data Modelling and was responsible for developing Shell’s Downstream Data Model as well as many standards and guides for data modelling and information management. Matthew has been active in standards development, in particular in ISO TC184/SC4 - Industrial Data, where he is a member of the Policy and Planning Committe and is a key technical contributor to ISO 15926 – “Lifecycle integration of process plant data including oil and gas production facilities”. He is also participating in the development of ISO 8000 – Information Quality. Matthew has been a Visiting Professor in the Keyworth Institute at the University of Leeds where he chaired the steering committee for the Undergaduate Programme in International Corporate Leadership in the Faculty of Engineering and Chairs the Industrial Advisory Board for the School of Computing.Matthew is a Trustee of the Ontolog Community of Practice, where he championed a series of talks on "Ontology and Databases", and has been a Co-Chair of the Ontology Summit.Matthew was awarded an OBE in the 2021 New Year's Honours list, and is a Member of the Institution of Chemical Engineers, the British Computer Society, and he is a Chartered Engineer, and a Chartered IT Professional.Specialties: Data ModellingData ArchitectureInformation QualityEnterprise ArchitectureEngineering Data ManagementStandards Development
