As a Quantum Science and Engineering student on the Quantum Nanotechnology track at the University of Delaware, I am embarking on the forefront of the "Second Quantum Revolution." Building upon the foundations of quantum mechanics, this revolution harnesses the unique properties of quantum systems to design and study materials, devices, and algorithms that surpass classical counterparts. Quantum bits, or qubits, can exist not only as 0 or 1 but also in a superposition, exponentially expanding their capacity for information processing. Quantum technologies have the potential to revolutionize fields such as computation, sensing, and communication. By enrolling in this program, I gain access to a comprehensive curriculum, including hands-on, project-based learning experiences, and state-of-the-art equipment. With the University of Delaware's dedication to bridging disciplines and cultivating professional skills, I am poised to contribute to the rapid advancement and real-world application of quantum science and engineering.

• Conducted photoluminescence on semiconducting few-layer magnets to observe magnon propagation and valley-splitting properties when interfaced with transition metal dichalcogenides• Developed and automated two material transfer stations for the assembly of designer van der Waals (vdW) heterostructures using polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) and polycarbonate (PC) transfer techniques• Trained graduate students across disciplines on how to perform AFM and relevant material transfer techniques for varying applications• Exfoliated graphene, TMDCs, and 2D magnetic materials, coded a computer vision program to detect monolayer graphene, became experienced with AFM, Raman spectroscopy, and Magnetosputtering

• Gained cleanroom experience performing sonication and O2 Plasma Cleaning to optimize the exfoliation of 2D materials• Orchestrated the successful assembly of a vdW heterostructure using CrPS4/WSe2 to conduct Photoluminescence Spectroscopy, resulting in the observation of valley splitting in WSe2• Mentored a high school student to introduce them to the world of undergraduate research and provided comprehensive training on various experimental aspects of 2D materials research
