Continuing on from massively influential hospital rotations, especially in acute cardiorespiratory care, I discovered two distinct but equally stimulating interests.1) Immediate (pre-hospital emergency care in sport) and the teaching of that. 2)The detective work involved in managing musculoskeletal pain conditions Immediate Care in Sport Having begun the journey (in 2011) of developing prehospital care in rugby in Singapore with a few massively driven individuals, I discovered that improving standards of care in this realm was a real passion. I have since delivered immediate care across southeast Asia as National Physiotherapist for Singapore Rugby Union and as a Pitchside Lead Practitioner and as part of medical teams across the Asia Sevens circuit, HSBC Sevens, Super Rugby competitions and international test 15's matches. I have also developed greatly as a person and as an educator in my training and provider of education for World Rugby and Rugby Football Union (UK) for their medical curriculum (Immediate Care in Rugby/Prehospital Immediate Care in Sport). Management of Musculoskeletal Pain and Injuries As director and senior physiotherapist of Integrative Physio Pte Ltd, I set about putting in place a vision of complete patient management. The excitement I gain in my job is in my role as a health detective and then in using that knowledge to return the power to the patient. It is the interrelationship of bodily systems and then those systems with the environment that I feel is still so overlooked, despite the growing world of functional medicine and epigenetics. From this point, we can be educators, empowerers, and finally healers.
