I worked 3 years in water treatment as a field service engineer for the southeast. My time as an FSE was spent on the road optimizing waste water treatment plants and boiler feed water plants for chemical plants, power plants, and large industrial manufacturers. It helped me develop a broad range of technical skills and problem solving. Along with the technical skills I developed to troubleshoot water treatment equipment, I learned how to trouble shoot and work on pumps, motors, communications, and electrical controls. I was provided ample opportunity for hands on experience and opportunity to work closely with operators and customers.I now work in the aerospace industry in configuration management. I put together all aspects of the engineering planning for producing new parts or parts that have been out of production. This includes capturing requirements and translating those requirements to work instruction for operations, capturing purchasing requirements and loading them into an inventory management system, coordinating with production control to promote one piece flow, capturing tooling requirements and communicating that information to tooling engineers, and documenting all of these actions to build a part history and satisfy AS9102 requirements for first article inspections. I also support the FAI process on the floor by answering questions for quality.
