Hello there! I'm Matthew Abell, a dedicated professional with a diverse skill set and a passion for making a positive impact. Currently, I am a Recreation Specialist at the Lodge at Spruce Peak, where I combine my outdoor expertise with leadership, creativity, and exceptional customer service to provide guests with enjoyable experiences in the picturesque surroundings of Stowe, VT.I am passionate about community betterment and aspire to bridge my computer science skills with my philanthropic drive. As a recent Magna Cum Laude graduate from St. Lawrence University, where I earned honors in Computer Science and pursued minors in Mathematics as well as Sports Studies & Exercise Science, I bring a solid academic foundation to the table. During my time at SLU, I also excelled as a student-athlete, serving as a captain for the SLU Cross Country team and achieving the prestigious title of school record holder in the 3000m Steeplechase as a member of the Track & Field team. Additionally, my leadership skills were honed through my role as Vice President of Student Athlete Affairs for the SLU Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and as a Peer Mentor at the Peterson Quantitative Resource Center.I am not only an Eagle Scout but also an Adirondack 46er, reflecting my dedication to outdoor pursuits. Alongside my professional endeavors, I am an enthusiastic cyclist, runner, hiker, camper, skier, and weight-lifter. I thrive on exploration and continuous learning, whether it's through reading, creating art, starting a book club with my family, or playing instruments like the bass and guitar.My goal is to leverage my unique blend of skills and experiences to contribute meaningfully to organizations addressing societal challenges.
