The majority of my professional career has been within Architectural and Engineering trades on projects ranging from cataloging residential improvements for a county appraiser to custom curtainwall glazing on the Walt Disney Concert Hall and several other projects.More recently, I've learned Pro Engineer Wildfire 4 and Solidworks and designed models for Siemens Energy as well as taken concept to manufacture for several individual inventors. Aiding in a start up Engineering firm, I've been involved in nearly every aspect of running a business including engineering support, interviewing, training, office management, project management, maintaining vendor relationships, inventory management, assembly and even drove the delivery truck. One of my most fulfilling career ventures was designing stairs for high end homes. When I say "design" I don't mean the pretty parts of the stair. I mean how it was designed, how it fit in the house with construction tolerances, the fabrication process, the mock up processes and support, the scheduling, logistics and safety of the installation process, having to be resourceful when the occasional issue arose and being hands on in all of it. My biggest achievement was taking a 3-4 day process that required 10-12 crew members when we started and evolving it into a 3-4 hour installation with 3 men. You don't learn how to do that kind of thing unless you're involved.
