Hello everyone, I recently obtained my PTA license after graduating from Kellogg Community College and I am ready and eager to help patients on their individual paths to recovery. My most recent work experience includes completing clinicals in both outpatient and inpatient settings that have allowed me to practice many different skills with patients of different ages, ethnicities and backgrounds. In outpatient I have had the opportunity to apply manual therapies, progress strengthening exercises and educate pre and post-op patients on how to navigate safely around and outside their home. In inpatient care I helped increase patients' independence, evaluated patients' strength, range of motion, mobility and assistance level and created HEPs for patients returning home after surgery. I have worked in customer service as an assistant head for almost 10 years at a grocery chain. It has been an invaluable experience that has contributed to my success as PTA as it taught me to use open communication in order to be a better leader and co-worker. This has allowed me to work more effectively as part of a team. What I value the most though is the experience it gave me to work with our customers; it taught me how to better communicate with others and create better customer relationships.
