The primary objective at the Department of Agriculture was to promote geospatial enterprise solutions for agricultural problems, ranging from agrosecurity, global crop forecasting, economic research, to farm policy implementation.

Assisted in the acquisition, organization, calibration, and processing of GIS and hyperspectral data collected by the AISA sensing system for regional and precision agriculture testbed projects at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center. Worked to develop economical precision agriculture methodologies for image processing and geographic information systems.

As a Graduate Research Assistant in the Department of Geography and Earth Systems Science, assisted multisensor spaceborne imagery research and analysis. Supported a six-week ground-truthing effort in Kenya and Tanzania for multisensor research in land-cover, agricultural, and refugee settlement studies. Utilized early GIS, multispectral, and radar imagery for fieldwork planning, production of hard copy image maps, and use of global positioning systems.
