As a developer on the UI Team, it is my responsibility to turn wireframes, mocks and style guides into functional HTML and CSS. I take an active part in the functional spec process and the agile development cycle and I'm also involved in wireframing and prototyping.

Working as the designer and front end developer I had a foot in both the marketing and development teams. I worked closely with the marketing team, developing customer personas, designing targeted brands, campaigns, and websites for the various arms of the business. I also worked with the development team, helping to integrate the various websites into Umbraco

Colourbox is a busy and fast paced marketing and design studio in Swansea. During my 10 week placement I worked on designs for both local and multinational companies and organisations from brief to production. I was also left in sole charge of the studio for 5 days. The work was mainly print based, which provided me excellent experience of preparing work for print. I was employed by Oakhouse Foods to assist their in-house design team for 3 weeks. I prepared images for their website, edited and retouched photos for an upcoming brochure, edited and updated packaging templates and helped artwork a new homeware brochure. I also worked alongside the marketing team on various promotional projects. I gained experience in print layouts, producing commercial print work and collaborating with other designers.
