As an Associate IT Security Analyst I was responsible for maintenance of the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of information system’s data resources, automated system components, and network hardware assets. This role was responsible for the design and maintenance of systems and policies to ensure the security of information and data assets; monitoring of procedures and compliance with security policies to ensure that user access, resources, and information are secure; monitoring of emerging network threats and regular consultation with other IT professionals and user departments to provide tactical and strategic technical guidance, and assist in the design and implementation of appropriate access protection, audit control, and evidentiary methods and procedures. As a Student Security Analyst, I served on the front lines of IT security for the University. This role was often the first contact customers (which includes students, faculty and staff) had with the security department. This position required the ability to quickly pivot from one task to another as needed and involved both technical and non-technical interactions. Due to the nature of the work, tasks were often of a sensitive nature and often required cooperation with local law enforcement or other areas of the University. Duties of this position include, but aren't limited to:Customer service via the security hotline and email. Interactions include resolving help desk tickets, answering questions and escalating issues as required.Working with issues related to DMCA (Digital Millennium Copyright Act) violations, including performing security investigations and log analysis, providing education to individuals that received infringement notices, notifying individuals of infringement issues, etc. Assisting in the collection and analysis of computing devices for investigative reasons.
